Stillness
The pieces in this show display a range of responses to stillness—whether as an interior, imagined experience; as a moment of observation of the world around us, or even as an abstraction. Color can be used to tell the story. In some cases, an animal steps in to represent a feeling of quiet contemplation.
At a time when turbulence is all around us, it is a pleasure to be able to take a few moments and view all of these ideas in one place—as well as to picture each artist, reflecting on their own quiet moments as they make their work.
